Neslihan Demir Darnel (born December 9, 1983 in Eskişehir) is a Turkish volleyball player. She plays as opposite hitter.

Personal life

She is married and has one daughter.[1]

Career

She played for the Spar Tenerife Marichal Team between 2006 and 2007. She played 81 times for the national team (as of 2008). She also played for Yeşilyurt and Vakıfbank Güneş Sigorta in Turkey. At age 19, Darnel was the leading player in the Turkish team that won the silver medal at the EC 2003 in Turkey making her a star in her home country and in the volleyball scene.

In 2007/08 Darnel took a break to volleyball to become a mother.

Playing with VakıfBank Güneş Sigorta Türk Telekom at the CEV Indesit Champions League, she won the "Best Scorer" award.[2]

She was named Best Scorer at the 2006 World Championship and 2010 World Championship[3]

For the 2010-2011 season, she played for Eczacıbaşı Zentiva.
